Have you ever wanted, you could design a custom-patterned paper for a project or a scrapbook layout, as you just do not have exactly what you need? It's really easy to do in Silhouette Studio, and since you have a total creative control, you can customize it, but you want!
I was responsible for the decorations for the baby shower of my sister and of course that meant that my silhouette became even more on a workhorse. We went with a hot air balloon theme and in the last minute I decided to make a folded medallion paper wreath with a paper wreath kit I had at hand (no need for a kit - but you can make yourself completely yourself). It contained papers that match perfectly with the baby shower theme. The only problem was that it was not totally connected to our hot air balloon theme. What is a girl to do other than making your own custom paper to bring everything together.
to start the open silhouette studio. Set up your page by going to the Tool page settings. In the Pane size map, click "Current Printer".
The size of the cutting mat does not matter in this case, but you want to check the "Show pressure limit" check box. If you check that this field creates a gray limit in your workspace that shows you exactly where your designs will print. They do not print outside of this limit.
Go to your silhouette studio library and find a design. Open it. Since I already had the hot air balloon designs in silhouette studio for stickers, cupcake toppers, favor tags and invitations that I just created, and the invitations I just used to transform it into a patterned paper.
If the design is in the silhouette studio, you want to check the following:
1) All lines have a weight, otherwise they do not print. Go to the cable style window to add a weight.
2) The entire design is set to "No cut" by the "Cut Settings" window. (Not that it is really important as they do not cut, but it is sent faster to the printer.)
If you have done these two things, I recommend you to reduce the zooms to see the entire page.
Select the single design and reject it again. For my patterned paper I wanted my hot air balloons small so that they would be completely visible on the folded paper medallions. You can either select the design and drag the corner into or you can use the scale tool to enter an exact dimension.
Now you can start replicating your design. You can quickly use the entire page with the design with the Fill Page function in the replica window. This works well if you want all designs in perfect rows and columns.
Another option, and what I usually do, I use the key combination to replicate designs. To do this, choose the Design> Command + arrow key.
This shortcut sets the duplicate directly next to the original. You can place the design you want by moving them either with the mouse or tabbing. I usually do a pattern of 4 and then replicate the group over the page. Here is a short video to demonstrate this process.
If your entire page is filled with the pattern, you can print. Make sure you have paper in your printer (printed on white carton) and click on the print icon along the upper toolbar of the silhouette studio.
Your custom textured paper is printed and can now be used, but you want - in my case, in my case, in which I have created dailly (silhouette tutorial!)
Tip: If you find that it is necessary to remove the small white edge to remove your textured paper, place the paper on the cutting mat with the upper and left sides that are aligned exactly along the edge.
in the silhouette studio, open an empty, new workspace.Activate the check box for the display of pressure frames from the Design page window. Use the drawing of a box tool to draw a box exactly over the gray line indicating the print frame.
Adjust your cut settings for CardStock and send to silhouette. Pull off the unwanted white edge.
And if you ask yourself. So my paper wreath came together!
